At a time of climbing fuel costs, natural disasters, and record-high deficits, it is vital that our state and federal leaders stay diligently focused on targeting resources responsibly.
When a family is faced with a financial crisis and money becomes tight, they must conserve resources and put shopping-sprees on hold. It is time for government to do the same thing.
Responsible budgeting is vital to the future of Iowa. In the words of State Auditor Vaudt, “Iowa must begin implementing sound budgeting principles and developing a long-range financial plan. Iowa’s long-range financial plan will serve as the foundation upon which we build our future budgets. Absent this, Iowa will continue to make decisions that balance the current year budget while ignoring the long-term impacts."
I am committed to providing Iowa with sound economic leadership and that is why I am honored by the invitation to participate in Iowa Taxpayers’ Day this Saturday, October 8, 2005.
Please refer to the details below and plan on joining us!
