Email Blasts:

Let’s Roll!

Released: 01/25/06

One year ago, I stood shoulder-to-shoulder with my leadership team to announce my candidacy for governor.

With a great hope in the future of our state and a great love for fellow Iowans, I am more committed than ever to earning the Republican nomination for Governor.

Over the past year, Darla and I have walked many parade routes. I’ve given many speeches at county fundraisers, attended many central committee meetings, and enjoyed many one-on-one visits with folks who are equally passionate about moving Iowa forward.

Most recently, we welcomed-in the election year by participating in our Republican caucuses.

Through it all, I am continually reminded of my passion for the ‘cause’…the cause of bringing leadership to Iowa.

As of December 31, 2005, our campaign has taken in more than $1 million to help us fight for that ‘cause.’ We have been truly blessed by the generosity of many Iowans and we will honor their generosity by running a quality campaign, focused on the issues.

With a loyal and growing organization in place and the necessary cash-on-hand to get our message out, I say, “Let’s roll!”

It will take hard work and dedication to achieve our goal...and I am inspired by the thousands of Iowans who are already working hard; making phone calls, knocking on doors, and simply talking to their neighbors about their support of our campaign.

In the words of Martin Luther King Jr., “The time is always right to do what is right.”

Now is, indeed, the time to do what is right. The Republican Party needs a fresh voice that will embody our party’s basic principles and the state of Iowa needs a leader who will champion the issues that are important to the people.

I invite you to engage in this ‘cause’ and to invite your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Together, we will take back Terrace Hill!

Sincerely, Bob Vander Plaats
